25 Weeks

25 Weeks...man has it flown by. We have officially entered summer here in Texas, and this pregnant woman is starting to "feel the heat"! The air conditioner is cranking and my poor husband is freezing ;) Despite, the temperature, I'm feeling great. Baby is kicking up a storm and has decided that 11pm and 3am is a great time to practice his kick boxing skills!  I guess he is just getting mommy ready for the 3am feedings that are quickly approaching.

Baby and I took our first flight to New Jersey for work, this past week, and I learned a few things about traveling while pregnant....you need to drink 10 TIMES as much water as you think.  Travel got best of me this time. I didn't drink enough fluid and unfortunately, I ended up in the Morristown, NJ ER with dehydration and low blood sugar.  A very scary experience, which I was treated quickly with an IV and 6 huge bottles of water. So since then... it's water, water, and more water for me. Daddy is watching out for us and always has water on hand.  Time for this mommy to slow down and enjoy a relaxing 3rd trimester!

Spitting Image

Today, we got the chance to see our little man in 3D, and what an awesome site.  Tears were streaming down my cheeks as I saw on the screen a spitting image of the man, sitting beside me, holding my hand.  Same cute button nose, pronounced chin, and pouty lips. I may be biased, but he is so handsome.  Everyone in the room agreed ;) Baby was very active and gave us quite a show, even showing off his "boy parts". The sonogram tech thinks he looks tall and thin, with big eyes and long skinny feet. He's just perfect...what a gift.  I can not wait to kiss that sweet face.

Happy Mothers Day

My first pre "Mother's Day" and what a great day it has been! Peter woke me up (after letting me sleep till 8!!!) with a bouquet of flowers and a beautiful card from "the baby". Days like today make me even more excited and truly grateful for my new baby and for my wonderful husband. I'm so blessed and euphorically happy.

Also, a Happy Mother's Day to the the most important women in our lives, Connie and Deborah.  We are so grateful for your unwavering love and support.  It is because of you both that we feel confident to become parents ourselves. We have had wonderful role models in our lives and we know our little boy will be so loved and cherished by this grandmas. What a lucky kid.  We love you!!!

My Impending Future...

My friend Lisa sent this picture of her little girl Alexandra and Charlie from when they were at our house for Easter.  I couldn't help but laugh over the look in Charlie's eyes as I can only imagine him thinking...

"My life as I know it, is over!"

Shoes & Booze 2011

Year #2 of a wonderful tradition! Last year, a few girlfriends of mine got together in Chicago for a "girls getaway".  We did a lot of shopping and wine drinking so I decided to term this weekend "Shoes & Booze", as seemed appropriate ;) The name has stuck, and those same girls decided that not only should this be a fun thing to do once in a while, but should become a yearly event.  So this year, Shoes & Booze 2011 was in Dallas!

These 3 lovely ladies are all friends from different parts of my life; Blair, my fabulous cousin from Chicago and Alexis and Cris, my East Coast gals that I met at Unilever. This year was a bit different then Chicago, as we were staying in the burbs instead of the big city and there was also a baby on the way...which cut down significantly on the "booze" portion of the trip ;) None the less, we had a wonderful time, sun bathing, eating, laughing and catching up on a lot of lost time together.  Thank you ladies, for the most fabulous girls weekend.  I miss you all already (and so does Charlie!)
