Welcome Peter James III

Mr. Peter James Shempp III "James", made a 2 week early arrival on 8/26/2011 at 1:38am.  He weighed in at a whopping 7.8lbs and 20 1/4 inches. He is such a sweet natured little boy, who loves to eat, sleep "skin to skin" with his daddy and face time with his family.  He DOES NOT like to be undressed and has decided that he needs 4 layers of clothing to feel warm.  He definitely has the Texas thin skin ;) 3 hour sleeping increments has left mommy a little fried, so I'll just leave you with some cute pictures instead of cute commentary :) Welcome Baby James, you are so loved.

Here we go....
 He's here!!!!! 7 lbs. 8 oz; 20 1/4 inches long

Any Day Now...

37 Weeks and officially full term. What a wonderful milestone.  If baby were born today, he would be able to breathe on this own and would have fully functioning organs. Every additional day that he spends inside is now added bonus; additional weight gain and more mature development.  He's weighing in around 6.5 lbs and about 19 in. long, but from the size of my belly...I'm hoping he is about 8lbs and 21 inches long...or I'm not sure what else is in there!!!! Dr. Branning says that despite the baby's rapid weight gain these next few weeks, that mine should slow down...THANK GOD! I didn't think I could get much bigger after looking at my WK 31 pictures...but I guess you can ;)  I'm still feeling pretty good despite the lack of sleep and frequent bathroom breaks. Getting around is definitely a challenge and tying shoes is now an impossible feat.  I just continue to self-talk patience and remember that I only have a few days left to carry my first born inside me, feel him move, take him to work with me, know that he is safe, healthy and protected everyday.  These things I will miss so much...

Things I can't wait for!!!!
- Snuggling my new baby and seeing him face to face
- Hugging my husband (w/out sticking out my butt)
- Seeing my feet
- Getting back into my skinny jeans
- High heels
- Wearing my wedding rings
- Post work, glass of wine ;)
-Being a MOM!

Just some additional pictures of cuteness...

All that is NEW!

This past week, in preparation for Baby's arrival (in 5 quick weeks), we worked our bums off getting the house ready.  Our credit card, getting most of the workout ;)  We found a Bob Stroller on Craigslist for a steal (thanks to my negotiating hubby!) as well as bought ourselves a new, high tech camera that we have no idea how to work it yet, but we are practicing!  We also organized the storage room with shelving units and cleaned out and organized the garage. I think Pete is nesting as much as I am...and I'm so thankful.  It feels great to have the house in order and most of the major purchases out of the way.  Here are some pics of the all the stuff, taken with the new camera!  It's like Christmas around here....To Me: From Me :)

Strollers are the new handbag...you can never have too many ;)

I had such grand plans for the foyer at one time...a lovely sitting area with framed art work and an upholstered bench...now it has become the stroller nook.  Oh well...

The "unfinished" nursery. Still waiting on pictures for the wall, the dresser and a rug...stay tuned...
