Hagan Wedding/ Babymoon

Peter and I just got back from a wonderful trip to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.  We were there to celebrate my high school friend, Kari's, wedding as well as get away for a few days before baby arrives!  We had a great time meeting some new friends and enjoying time with some old ones ;) Kari, Alyssa and I have known each other since grade school and have been close friends ever since. We email weekly and have gone through all of life's ups and downs together.  It was so great to be together (physically...not just virtually, for once) and to be celebrating a great "up" in Kari's life.  We love her new hubby, Tom, and we so happy to have him a part of our "crazy gang".  Kari, Tom, I wish you all the happiness!

Happy 2nd Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to Peter, the man of my dreams, my best friend, and soon to be father of our child.  I can't believe it has been 2 years since our dream Cabo wedding and 8 years (to the date) from the day we met. I had just turned 22 when I met Peter in Westport, CT.  Doesn't that seem so young?!?! What a ride it has been and I'm thankful for each day that we have together.  We have grown so much as individuals and as a couple.  I'm so excited for our future together.

To celebrate our 2nd anniversary, Peter planned a trip down to Austin, TX.  Neither of us had ever been to Austin before, and we were looking forward to exploring a new city. Unfortunately, the trip never happened.  We came home Friday night to a broken water heater, which being located in our attic, had leaked into our very newly painted nursery :( Pete was able to get the water turned off to the house and we thought we had it stopped, but Saturday morning we found more damage to the ceiling. We called the plumber who was able to come out, and at least, get our one working water heater hooked up for hot water. The dry wall repair guy should hopefully come out tomorrow and let us know about the wall damage. So, long story short...we stayed at home to bail water and scrap drywall ;)

(Thanks Kurt and Katie for the bathtub (aka...fan prop) you sent...very useful already ;)
Once the damage was controlled we did enjoy a day at the pool and a nice dinner out downtown. We still had a wonderful anniversary and are thankful that the "set back" wasn't worse.  This nursery should be in tip top shape by the time little Shempp arrives ;) Only 13 more weeks!!!
