Tiny Pole Dancer

I know...it's horrible, but I couldn't resist the comparison.  It really looked like pole dancing, but this little drooling tot, could not be cuter :) xoxo

 Oh Geez...

Lighten Up!

I knew from the moment I step into 11527 Avondale, that this was our home.  I walked through the front doors, looked right into the formal living room and pictured our family Christmas, I could envision raising my family here and growing old with Pete here.  One thing I could not envision... family time, "kitchen talks", girlfriends drinking wine, date nights, homework at the table....in THAT kitchen.  The kitchen is the hub of the home (doesn't matter if you cook or not!)   It's important and this kitchen was just not US!  Something had to go.  It was so dark, so uninviting, good bones, so much good...but ohhhh so much bad!  So, I decided...things had to LIGHTEN UP!

So with a good contractor, some lighting and some paint...

Weekend Visitors

This weekend we had some fun visitors. Saturday, Austin, Claire and baby Will came over for a swim play date. Will is just 6 weeks younger than James, but as you can see Will has caught up to James in size ;) It was like having twins at the house...phew, that would be crazy!

Plotting their next move...

Then Sunday afternoon, we had another visitor. We don't see a lot of wild life (except bunnies) in Frisco due to the lack of trees, but today we saw this guy perched on our fence. I'm pretty sure, he found his dinner in a bird's nest near our house, and as you can see mommy bird was VERY unhappy.

We topped of the weekend with a BBQ with the Seeman crew. Didn't grab any pictures :(
Happy Sunday!

9 Months

Happy 9 month birthday little man!

I'm already a week late in getting this post up because you are keeping mommy quite busy these days! You are doing A LOT of new things this month. You are a "walking machine"!  Not by yourself quite yet, but with Mommy or Daddy's hands you are lightening fast and getting more sure on your feet.  You are pulling up on everyone and everything and officially are crawling on your hands and knees. You still prefer the army crawl- much faster mode of transportation.  You are eating pretty much all solid foods now. You have tried hotdogs, avocado, chicken, turkey, salmon, grilled peppers, pasta, cheerios, strawberries, grapes, bananas, peas, carrots...just to name a few. You love your carbs (just like your momma) and prefer your pasta and crackers over veggies and meat.

You are definitely a "boys-boy". You love everything with wheels; cars, bikes, trucks, strollers. Anytime you are walking outside and see a car parked...you head right over to touch the wheels. Mommy has done her best to swap out real tires for toy tires (this feels like a safer idea!)  You also love to swim and think it is great fun to stick your face in the water.  Grammy thinks it's time to go under water, so we will let her do that when she is in town for a visit in July (yes, I'm chicken!)

You are still taking about 16-20oz of formula 4X/day. You are taking two good naps at 9:00 and 1:00 and sleep for about 1.5-2 hours. Still a great night sleeper, however have started getting up earlier, now about 5:45am.

You're still our little peanut weighing in a 17.5 lbs (15%)  and 28 inch long (36%).  Your head is a whopping 17inches (11%). I think you are going to be like most men in your family...a late bloomer ;) No sickness this month...yahoo!

No teeth yet...still waiting...

Getting into trouble- "Look I'm Charlie!"

Memorial Day

We had a great memorial day spent with some of our very best friends the Macechkos. Matt, Whitney, Davlin and Bentley (the puppy) were our neighbors in Fayetteville. They were gracious enough to make the long 5 hour haul from Arkansas for the weekend. We had such fun, taking the kids to lunch, to the park & swimming. Charlie and Bentley didn't miss a beat and were back to being old friends in no time! We miss them so much and can't wait for our next visit.

Getting ready for a swim!

To Grandmothers House We Go!

Off to South Carolina we go! My brother and sis-in-law were home from the DR for a 3 week visit and to meet their sweet nephew! The trip out went as well as I could have expected. James was his usual busy-body self (no shut eye for this little man). He fussed a bit, but for the most part, we were able to keep him occupied (and by "we" I mean everyone within a 3 ft radius!). The ladies sitting around us played many games of peek-a-boo ;) They say "it takes a village", right! However, despite our best efforts, one irritated passenger felt it her duty to bring to my attention , "You have the LOUDEST baby in the world!". Ha...I was shocked at her boldness, but I can't say I totally disagree ;)

Needless to say, I was more than ready to get off the plane and to see my family! The trip couldn't have been better. We all had such a great time hanging out, catching up, eating the local cuisine (strawberries!) and enjoying the beautiful SC weather. My mom, of course, went above and beyond making it such a comfortable place relax and have fun. James slept and ate like a champ!

Fun with Uncle Kurt

 Fun with Auntie Katie

Enjoying my first strawberry~ They don't get any better than in SC!

Dinner at Spice of Life. James was memorized by the live music. The band played lots of "Texas" songs for their biggest fan! (he stared at them like that for a good hour!)
 The lovely ladies!
QT w/ Grammy
James' favorite part of the trip~ ATV riding with Gramps (mommy had to take a Valium ;)
James is obsessed with everything tires (dirty...but fun!)
Last night dinner at the Chop House!

So hard to go....we had the best time and felt spoiled by so much love!

Don't let this sweet face fool you...this cutie pie screamed bloody murder for 1.5 hrs during the flight home. Just didn't want the fun time to end ;)
